      Hi 444arth49,

Hope you’ve had a good day?

Well it all started in my second year of my undergraduate degree. I took a module in biomaterials, which was all about materials that are used in biomedical applications. Anything from implants to sensors, dressings, you name it! As part of the module we were asked to do a research project and I chose to do mine on bone implants as I just found it fascinating how in the past we have used materials for these implants that actually have quite different properties.

Another things that has really kept me motivated in my research about bone implants is that a few years ago I broke the bones in my lower leg (tibia and fibula). This really gave me a whole new perspective on things and really made me want to try and make a different to people even more! While this was an experience that taught me a lot I definitely think there are better, less painful ways of learning this lesson! 😉
