Hi – almost certainly. I’m not really up on nanotech, but some of the materials coming out of it like carbon nano-tubes seem fun. They might be strong enough to make a space elevator – where you can just run a lift cable from the ground up into space and it stays there without support because the earth spins it around like something on the end of a string. Then you can climb the cable and get into space without a rocket.
The great thing about something like that is that we don’t know what it will bring – in the same way that when i was young, we didn’t know what computers would bring. It will be your job to decide and make it happen….
Definitely – though probably not for the better part of a decade or two.
I think some of the biggest advances in the near future in nano-tech will be in biological systems – nanobiotechnology has already had some success in tissue regeneration.
