I loved working on the aortic stent graft.
I had worked for Johnson and Johnson in a local factory where they made and designed hip repelacements as a summer job while at Uni and loved the idea that I could make someone’s life more bearable. Post graduation, I was always looking for an opportunity to get back into medical devices.
I joined Lombard Medical and a surgeon had approached the company with a unique idea for the construction of an aortic stent. For the next ten years, along with my colleagues, I developed the idea and turned it into something that could be made. The inspiration was easy to find – when you know that the thing you are making will give someone an extra ten years of life, you are totally motivated.
