• Question: Can brain diseases through your body of course? e.g. Your going to make a cup of tea and then you suddenly start doing something else.

      That’s a really good question. Brain diseases do absolutely affect your whole body, because your brain is what controls your body. Different brain diseases affect the body in different ways – like how some colds can give you a cough, some can make your nose run, and some can do both.

      You’re absolutely right about your body disobeying your brain at times, but this is quite unusual. For example, with Parkinson’s disease patients might suffer from what’s called Freezing of Gait, where they try to start walking but their legs just refuse to move – sort of like being stuck in invisible concrete.

      More commonly though, people with Parkinson’s disease may find their hands shake uncontrollably, their legs get restless, or their arms flinch for no reason.
