Working in medical means having to prove things are safe, that they work and that patients indeed need them. This comes with a tidy amount of paperwork that while very necessary isn’t the most exciting part of the job.

Occasionally – I have to repeat my experiments many times to make sure my results are accurate and I have to do a lot of paperwork and emailing. Overall though, it is really fun!

      Yes, but not that often.
Like Sylvain & Dawn I also have to do some paperwork, emailing and experiment repeats. I also have to sit in long meetings about 4-5 times a month.

Being bored at work isn’t always a bad thing- sometimes you’ll be very, very busy, and then you WANT to sit in a meeting to have a bit of a rest!

There are many downtimes in research , particularly when you do not get expected results or when you have to wait for a long time for results. But it is doubly rewarding to see it finally working when it does!
