      Okay, so first of all I was lucky and my maths and science teachers made me work hard to get good grades at GCSE. Then for A-Level I took Maths, Physics, D.T (and French, though that’s less important).

      Maths and Physics are must-have subjects for engineering, so with those I was able to apply to a few universities when I was 16/17. Imperial accepted my application and then it was a case of getting the right grades at A-Level.
