• Question: If the Earth nearly increased by 2 degrees and ice-caps started melting how would you try to prevent global warming and save the people/animals of Earth.

      Not a lot the medical engineering field can do about that but we might be faced with new challenges including spreading of disease due to more floods and warmer air.
      As citizens of the earth, we all have a responsibility to use resources wisely, so I’d continue to do my bit about that, but it wouldn’t be through my work directly.

      I’m already trying – I recyle, use low energy lightbulbs, and try not to leave lights on. Everyone can make a difference to try to slow down global warming!

      Wow! 2 degrees is a heavy rise in temperature. I guess most of the islands would be gone. Medical engineering might not provide solution to this problem, it is more of a environmental engineering problem actually.

      This is a scary scenario but it could happen in our lifetimes!
      I think we need to put a lot more effort into developing cheaper electric-powered cars, and better solar cell technology.

      I’m not sure how I’d deal with mass flooding- I’d have to ask for advice from geography experts! I know someone who works in flood management so I’d ask him- he runs lots of flood simulations and works out how best to evacuate people
