      A microchip that uses light energy to analyse particles & cells

      It’s complicated because it has optical fibers inside, as well as lots of tiny channels that carry fluid around (instead of normal microchips that use electronics to do their jobs, mine use fluids), and a part that makes your particles/cells move in a single-file queue

      It’s beneficial because it’ll hopefully help people to develop cheap (<£10) microchips that can scan cells and tell people if they have a disease or not
