My favorite project so far is working on real-time non-invasive mechanical measurements of cells – we can measure how stiff they are without touching them so we don’t damage them in real-time which is really exciting!

Ah, that is a good question. My favourite projects so far are the fetal heart analysis on ultrasound images and analysing micro bleeds in cerebral white matter. In the first, I detect the presence of heart in an image (sometimes they might not be viewed) and determine its view. The broad picture is to diagnose congenital heart disease in fetes before it is born. The second is on the other end of the spectrum. I analyse the brain MRI images of elderly patients with incidence of stroke and identify the bleeds / blood leakages causing it.

I’ve not had one of my medical projects hit the market yet, I am really looking forward to the one I am working on right now, to diagnose tuberculosis, that is planned to launch in India and China in 2018. Looking at my non medical past, I see my former employer launching printing system that contain a fair amount of the work I did (https://www.dominoprinting.com/en/products/ax-series) My bit was the print head (team work of course, not alone)

The one I’m doing now, because I enjoy 3D printing so much and I feel like I can help peoples’ health with it

I did enjoy a project I once did where I made windows that could change colour out of a chemical from crab shells. That was great fun
