• Question: What machine compartments did you use to figure out how to 3D print using food? Also what program did you use to form the words like "F3D"?

      Great questions! We formed the words using Solidworks, which is a CAD program our university gives to us. There is a free alternative which is really popular and able to do exactly the same called SketchUp.

      I’m not quite sure what you mean by machine compartments, but we built the printer from Bosch Rexroth aluminium profile and Nema-17 stepper motors.

    Thanks for answering our question and we were also wondering weather the machine prints edible food or do you have to enable a certain option to make it edible. 😉

    There were 3 cartridges you could fill with ingredients, so for example for pizza we loaded the machine with dough, cheese, and tomato. So long as you put edible things in, you got edible things out!
