I enjoyed physics much more at University than at college.
But I also enjoyed my A-levels more than my GCSEs.
The more you specialise, the more time you have to really learn about what topics interest you. At school things always seem to be quite rushed. So, yes I did! Except chemistry, I dropped that after a year…
Doing subjects at University is far more fun than doing them in school. In school you are just learning the basics and its hard to see why they might be useful. I remember thinking “I will never ever need to do trigonometry in real life”. But at Uni when you get past the baics and learn how to design and build real engineering products using the things you learned its a lot more fun. Like programming, its dull at school but when you are programming a robot at Uni then its fun. And I now do your trigonometry every day (its important in AC electronics).
there were some proper duff projects i had to learn about at university and you just keep thinking to yourself “i never want to do this when I’m older” or “I will never use this” and to this day i havent used every topic i learned at uni, however, knowing what i know from the classes does help me to understand there is some method behind why something is done that way.
I was never particularly interested in learning the different management methods… havent come across them in my day to day life, but may at some point in the future.
