• Question: What advice would you give to a young adult/ a child who would like to become an engineer?

      I can honestly say the first piece of advice I would give is figure out what part of engineering you find the most interesting. There are many many many different disciplines of engineering, so knowing which one is the one that gets you excited should help you later on. That worked for me at least!

      Try to get some work experience, chance your arm and apply for a summer job in your dream place of work. Also get some experience at home, fix cars, get a Raspberry Pi or Auduino, any experinece is good.

      engineering is so big and can be applied to anything! have a think about what you would like to know more about and research how engineering can be applied!

      Join (or start!) a makers club at your school/college or near you that you and a friend/parent can go to. These are great way of learning practical problem solving skills and you never know what you will invent or learn that will save you a few quid in the future!
