      I love doing research and enjoy my job so much. As a researcher you are always after something new that no one in the world has experienced before. It is very exciting when you feel that your experiments are leading to a new finding. So, I would give 10 marks to my job!

      You have to work together with so many people. They could be your group members, researchers from other labs, groups or universities, funding organisations, companies etc.

      My job is fun a lot of the time! The real world seems to contain a fair amount of admin work but I don’t think that can be avoided anywhere…

      I work directly with about 20 people and there are 1000 or so people on site. Everyone is great to work with and I’m never too far from a world expert in something.

      I would rate my job a 9. With full-time inventor being the top of the scale.

      I’ve been really lucky to travel to all our sites and meet colleagues and make friends all over England, Wales and also Germany.

      I work directly in a team of about 12 and in an office of 100 engineers. In our company there are also engineers at every power station.

      I’d currently give my job a 9 🙂 it would be a 10 if there was more research and innovation!
