There are lots of research going on all over the world to achieve this goal. Currently there are devices developed, which could charge a phone in seconds. However, they are still in the research phase. Although a device shows successful performance in research phase, it takes some time for it to come to the market as a finished product. One problem we have is the cost of such devices. Another problem is difficulty in large scale production.
For eg. suppose there is a battery which could charge a phone in few seconds. But, if the material we use in the battery to achieve such a good performance is very expensive and if that material cannot be produced in large quantities, we will not be able to bring that battery in to the market.
However, it is predicted that we will be able to reach this target within the next decade.
