Goverments have to set regulations and take active measures to stop pollution. However, it is also up to each of us to help towards this – I now buy fruit and veggies that do not come in plastic wrappings, and I mostly use bicycles or buses to travel (or go on foot).

Of course, Robotics can be used as a positive measure to combat a lot of this problems, e.g. to monitor pollution, safeguard oceans, forests and wildlife etc.

Pretty sure Tonia nailed it. Basically we need everyone on the planet to work together, we need to make laws about it because greedy people will always try to cut corners. This goes for climate change too.

I think the cause of all causes is the overpopulation, so making less babies is the best long term solution.

We need to work together for sure. People’s attitude need to switch from caring about their environment short term to have more of a long term view. We need infrastructure that needs to be paid for, it seems like a lot of things we do is to get immediate effect so end up going for quick projects which will not be best for us long term.

Governmental enforcement is important but behaviour change needs to happen too. We had a discussion at work the other day, crisp packets cannot be recycled and ALWAYS end up in landfill, are we prepared to never eat crisps again until we have something need to put crisps in… Alot of us said no…

      Food for thought.

My thoughts are along the lines of every individual contributing their small amount to help better the society we live in. This could be in form of a better attitude, no littering , recycling etc.

We all need to work together, but I think we need to look at our own habits and look at what we can do in our own lives. Taking public transport or walking rather than using a taxis or our own car. recycling and reusing, all can contribute to a better environment.
