• Question: do you think your job is harder than most other jobs?

      That depends what you mean. Does it take more work to get into in the first place? Yes, you need some qualifications that can be quite challenging to get to be able to do what I do (PhD student), but once you are there most of the hard work is done. It can still be challenging at times, but I wouldn’t say my work is “hard”.

      Without a shred of a doubt.

      Generically speaking, Engineering is a fusion of a number of subject areas(Mathematics,Physics etc) which are renowned for their difficulty, to provide solutions which would otherwise be limited to our imaginations(…or Sci-Fi films)

      I think that when you are inside any job, this is what you think. But there is no way to compare until you actually do all jobs, which is impossible.
      I do not believe my job is tougher that others. But I do think that it could be tougher for some people that are differently inclined, e.g. prefer to practice law. If you ask me to make an art painting I would think that this was way tougher and even impossible than what I currently do! But maybe I can teach a robot to paint instead!

      It can be challenging but with the right training it can be very rewarding. Comparing to other jobs is like comparing apples with pears, every job will have it’s challenges and people who like those challenges will like those jobs. I like solving problems by making and designing things as well as doing calculations so engineering is a good fit for me. Someone who like people may enjoy training or teaching others.

      In some aspects yes and others no.
      Working in a team makes things easier when you’re stuck on a problem talking to others even those who do different things to you helps so much!

      There’s a lot going on for sure and we need to keep update to date with new technology, it does get crazy!

      It was difficult to study at first, but then when I started to work in a laboratory it become easier than manual job like working at a shop or hair saloon.
