• Question: why did you decide to start your research?

      This area allows for me to put my skills as a Control Engineer and work in an area which I have an interest in(Healthcare) to implement a vision I have for a more inclusive society-irrespective of disability.Hence Prosthetics 🙂

      After volunteering in Tanzania I realised making things more sustainable is really important for our world to progress so started researching on creating sustainable systems. 🙂

      I wanted to keep learning after my degree, and I wanted to contribute towards sustainability. I was interested in enzymes anyway, but there was a project available once I joined the doctoral training centre for sustainable chemistry which was in computational modelling of enzyme, which perfectly fit what I was after!

      I wanted to start research in medical robotics because I thought that this would be a way to contribute to the world and do something that motivated me enough to get through 4 years of studying the same subject. Before that, I was already interested and working in robotic hands, so I thought it would be great to combine these two.

      I don’t really do research, I work for an OEM which means I help develop product which would be sold to end users which in my case is hospitals and dermatology offices.

      What I do now was really luck, I applied for a job which looked cool and I was sucessful in getting it. At the time of applying I had no idea that X-Rays could be used to treat skin cancer, and everyday I am learning more about how they do what they do.
