You do have to get good exam results to go to Cambridge. If you want to be an academic (the people who do research and teach at Cambridge), you have to also do a PhD, which is what I’m doing at the moment. A PhD is a a three or four year degree where you do your own research to find out stuff no one knows yet. It’s quite a lot of studying but you get to be called ‘doctor’ at the end! Going to Cambridge is cool in some ways but it’s definitely not that important – there are so many fantastic Universities around the UK where you can do engineering. The most important thing is you find a place and work you love.
