      Ha, love this question!
Yes and no is my answer! There are of course two types of time machine, very different, one possible and the other not.
The first type is not only possible, but we know it works – and allows us to move into the future. All you need to do is get on a fast spaceship (very close to the speed of light), go on a round-trip to your favourite star, and when you return, everyone you know and love will probably be long dead. I think that’s depressing, but only becuase the other type of time travel, the one that goes back – is impossible. How can I be sure? Well, no one can really be sure, but, as Mr Spock would say, ‘it is logical’. Backward time travel would allow you to perhaps murder your younger self, which raises the question – if you died as a kid, who was it who came to murder you? I like to think the world is more logical than that! Of course, some people say that if you go back you create an alternate reality – to me that is really ‘wishful’ – the simple answer is probably the right one: it’s impossible.
