• Question: what is the favourite model/creation you have made?

      The first time I made a living computer program, called a Genetic Algorithm. It simulates the process of evolution and chooses for itself how to proceed. Quite scary and beautiful at the same time!

      My favourite creation was a chemical reactor I designed and helped build that changes a mineral (made from the skeletons of diatoms – a bit like chalk which is made from shells) – we change the mineral so it become ‘sticky’ to proteins that make beer go ‘off’ – you drop some of this stuff in your beer, then scoop it out again and the beer will last longer on the shelf!
