Well, for most of the past year I was on maternity leave so really its the last 3 months! I am currently running a project introducing a new machine. This involves mechanical, electrical and software design. Then we have to build and test the new machine before releasing it to production. I’m in charge of the project so its on me if it goes wrong!

I helped design and build a prototype for a programming language that blind children could use as well as sighted children. We had to figure out two things to start with:
      1. How to teach children programming
      2. How to teach children programming without using computer screens
We came up with some ideas and started testing them with kids. Our final idea involved blocks that you plug together to program music. To make the prototype we used lots of 3D printing, electronics and software.

I can’t compete with Eloise on this, give here a ‘like’. Wow that’s cool Eloise, count me impressed !

For me the toughest thing was much less pleasant – it was about deciding if we should close a factory 🙁
