I study robots that would perhaps work in difficult environments for humans or perform tasks that would be very tedious. Specifically, the robots I work with take samples of an environment then do some processing on that data to make the results interesting for humans. Unfortunately I don’t do much in terms of building robots, apart from as a hobby.
Hmm, I suppose it depends! Do you mean super futuristic robots with a human like AI, or something more like a Roomba, for vacuuming a house? I’m all in favor of the latter, but with the former I feel like I’d have some issues with it 🙂 I’d certainly hate to enslave a robot that might think, grow, (perhaps feel?) in it’s own way.
