When I was 16 I did some work experience… me, my teacher, 3 other pupils and a local engineer had to solve a real life engineering problem of too much waste and rubbish going into a river.

We designed a filtration system that actually got built and is still there today (over 10 years laters)!

Before this I knew I liked science but didn’t really know what to do with it so it introduced me to how cool engineering could be!

I never thought about it till i came to university but I had some really good lecturers that inspired me to carry one with engineering! So for me I was about 23 years old! its never too late!
