Sometimes! As I work with materials they can be used in all different sorts of applications. I have been in volved in some specific space projects, like working on a new rocket thruster for the European Space Agency, but my work is very varied for example I’m currently developing coating for corrosion resistance in pipelines. Working on the space stuff is always what gets me the most excited though!
Yes I do and I am always working on at least one spacecraft. But you need to know that it takes many people with various skills and knowledge to make a spacecraft. Without all the people you need it can’t be done so everybody in the team is important to a successful space mission. I develop the software that controls the imager (very special camera) and downloads the data back to the ground. Another person will be responsible for perhaps the radio transmitter/reciever and there are many others too.
