It was actually when I was completing my profile and thinking about how I would potentially spend the money if I don’t ramble on too much. I have been involved in a few school activities relating to science, engineering and space, and was looking into initiatives that matched up with things that are important to me. Mission X does that through matching up science based activities with physical ones. I always was very active and played a lot of sports when I was younger, (I still try to), and try and eat the right sorts of food as I’m getting older. (Doesn’t mean I don’t love pizza and chocolate though). It’s also that as I wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger it would be a really fun thing to do even for me to undertake the programme and experience at least some of what it’s like. It’s also a programme that anyone can get involved in. One of my passions is about inclusion and diversity in science and engineering so something like Mission X is a way of getting everyone involved in something that is fun, educational, and we can all learn from. So, if I were to ‘win’, I would use the money to develop essentially an astronaut training pack that uses all of the resources available on the Mission X website but has all the equipment and things needed to complete them that can be taken into/lent to schools so they can take part. It doesn’t need to be as part of the actual programme as that happens only once a year, it can be done any time! I’ve also tried some of those hydrated food packets before, and that weren’t nice so learning more about how we can eat in space really interests me too as food is definitely one of my favourite things to think about. Would it be something that you would want to take part in?
