I have once was considering to apply for a job on the North Pole. I believe it was a job from British Antarctic Survey company https://www.bas.ac.uk/jobs/.
Unfortuantely I haven’t been anywhere ‘unsual’ yet. I have spent many hours in what I like to call the ‘radioactive science basement’ doing some analysis, discussed rocket engines on an old RAF base, helped design & test a bit of equipment in Switzerland next to the Lindt chocolate factory, (yes it smelt amazing), and am getting to go to Orlando to present some of my research at a scientific conference in May so will obviously be doing some extra ‘research’ at the Kennedy Space Center! A lot of science and engineering involves working with people all over the world so if you’re lucky you can get the opportunity to travel and see some incredible sights.
