I’m a friendly, easy-going person who enjoys hanging out with friends, keeping fit and exploring new places. I have travelled to many countries all over the world, from South Africa to Singapore!
I live in Oxford with my boyfriend and we often go kayaking on the river and love visiting theme parks.
I’m a big animal lover, and the pets I’ve had include cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters and fish. At one time, we had 5 cats, 5 fish tanks and 2 rabbits!
I’m from a single-parent family, and both of my parents didn’t get any qualifications from school. I was generally average throughout school, and became very good at science, maths and art as I got older – these were my favourite subjects.

I work for the UK Space Agency (a dream come true!) as a Space Systems Engineer.
I belong to a team called the Office of the Chief Engineer, and our team has a wide range of technical skills, from rocket science to controlling a satellite in space! π°οΈ
My job is very varied, because our team are required to support many different teams and projects across the UK Space Agency. This means that I’ve been able to help select new mission ideas, experiments for the International Space Station (ISS), and learn how rockets and satellites are designed.
In my previous job, I worked as a Quality Engineer at the European Space Agency in Germany. Watch the video below to find out more!
Other jobs I’ve had include:
- Research & Development Engineer at Gabler Medical, South Africa
- Using software to improve the performance of oxygen equipment for hospitals π₯
- Manufacturing Engineer at Rolls-Royce, UK and Singapore
- Creating improvements in the way that jet engines for aeroplanes are made βοΈ
- Product Definition Engineer at Rolls-Royce, UK
- Making technical designs on the computer for new jet engine parts π

My Typical Day: I always start with a cup of tea, then I either logon from home or drive through the countryside to work. I typically work from 9am to 5pm, and get to work on a variety of cool things everyday! No two days are the same, and I love the fact that I get to support a range of UK Space activities!

I work in the heart of a huge campus full of Space and STEM companies!
Sometimes I choose to work from home, and sometimes I also visit the office in London.
My day always starts with a cup of tea, and my work hours are flexible. Sometimes I start work at 7am, and other days I might choose to start at 9am. This means that I can sometimes finish work early!
Each day is different for me, because I work with different colleagues all the time to help them deliver their projects.
My day might include a visit to a Space company, assessing technical information about new space missions, lunch with my colleagues and working on tasks to support my team.
