I’m most proud of getting to where I am now (i.e. working in the space sector and doing well in my early career so far) despite a challenging upbringing.
I’m from a single parent family, and nobody in my family had any qualifications. I went to a state school and generally did ok, but sometimes really struggled with exams and homework. It took a lot of hard work to get the grades I needed for university, and achieving a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering was a huge achievement for me!
My family have always been really encouraging and can’t believe what I now do for a living, so it’s really nice to know I’m doing them proud 🙂
Seeing things I have worked on launch is a proud moment. I worked on a telecomms project called AMU1 for years and I didn’t work on the launch but I could watch in via the internet. Last year I got to support the launch of Sentinel 6 which was really cool.
