• Question: Have you won/are you aiming to win any prizes for your work?

      I don’t think I’ve ever won any prizes for my work. At school I worked hard and won a couple of prizes but nothing that comes to mind professionally.

      My and two other people worked together and won a funding award for a project recently which was nice. My boss won an award for a life saving heart and lung system he developed. Hopefully I can do that one day too.

      I’ve won a few. Most recently, I won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for the university. That’s a pretty big one and an excuse to dress up and go to Buckingham Palace. I tend not to enter prizes unless I’m told I have to. I focus on trying to win money to do better research. I suppose that’s a kind of prize though.
