Question: How do your think your drive to do what you do was inspired? In terms of people you looked up to in school essentialy, or people you aspired to be etc.

  When I was at school my inspiration was to do well rather than to head for a career in Engineering so I always tried to work hard and not be too naughty!!
  
  They say you never forget a good teacher and I was fortunate to have some good ones. I had a German teacher called Mr Spaull and he used to turn the lights off if people were getting boisterous and it calmed everyone down straight away (it was inspired) . He then would turn them back on and say “now were back from the dark ages, lets do some work”.
  
  I also had some great science teachers and they fired a passion of science and learning in me. There was an incident with a bunsen burner, some tongs and a pupil’s ear that still haunts me. Everyone in that class learned about heat transfer that day and will never ever forget it.
