• Question: What is an anatomy lab?

      I haven’t personally heard of such a thing but it sounds like a lab where the anatomy of humans is studied.

      Edit: having read Matthew’s excellent answer below I can confirm we have something similar but we call it a Morphology lab and it’s mostly filled with samples of hearts and lungs.

      An anatomy laboratory is a place where students, doctors and other people who need to can look at human bodies. Often the bodies or parts of bodies are preserved in jars and with chemicals. They also have lots of bones and skeletons so it is possible to see what those structures are like too.

      When you die, if you donate your body for medical science, one of the places where it may be used is an anatomy laboratory. They are very useful places to get hands-on experience of the human body beneath the surface. This isn’t possible with healthy volunteers and even patients.
