Question: Do you believe that long term sustainablity is going to be ensured by engineers?

The main reason companies behave sustainably (at the moment) is because the government or their customers make them. This means that, as things stand, it’s going to be the influence of those groups that ensure a sustainable future, even if it is the engineers doing the hard work. Hopefully in the future more companies will act sustainably simply because they believe it’s the right thing to do 🙂
EDIT: Just had a look at your profile and it says that your engineering heroes are Lusser and Da Vinci. Both great examples of individual engineers going off by themselves to make something better. Maybe that will have an impact on sustainability too, especially now we have things like crowd funding to support it!
