      I use an ordinary microscope – most of my particles are larger than one micrometre (1000 times smaller than 1 mm) so I can see them fine. However, the particles are made up of much smaller “primary particles” which are about 20 nanometres (1 nm is 1000 times smaller than 1 micron) and I used a special electron microscope to look at these in detail.
