• Question: What is your favourite machine to work on?

      Hi thanks for the question, I think Tam will have a great answer too your question. I don’t work on or fix machines as such but my favorite machine I work with area the hydraulic excavators because they are so powerful.

      Wow- what a great question.

      I love working on the generator in a ship. This is because it involves a bit of everything.

      The generator uses a motor to generate electricity which powers the whole of the ship. This means that it has lots of mechanical engineering parts as well as electronics. To work on this machine you have to be able to understand how electricity is produced and works as well as be able to take apart and reassemble an engine.

      If the generator stops working the whole ship is in a lot of trouble!
