      Hi, there are chemical we use in the water treatment facility to make the water safe to drink. These chemicals then have to be taken out out by complicated process so it is safe to drink. Accurate checking is done to ensure the water continues to be safe.

      There are very strict regulations on drinking water composition and treatment works need whatever it may be to meet the standards.

      In reality there are chemicals in water that we drink, but they are at very low concentration, which is perfectly safe. For example the limit for pesticides is 1 part per 10 billion!
