• Question: do you think i will need to study science to be a racing driver?

      No but it helps. I actually worked in a trackside lab for the Ferrari Formula one team a few years ago so I do know quite a bit about how serious racing works. Ferrari for example, will take around 30 engineers to each race and they will have over a hundred more watching from computers back in their factory. All of these guys will be feeding information back to the track and the guy in charge (called the team principle – a bit like the manager of a football team) will make decisions about what the drivers should do to get the best possible result in the races.

      The point is that the drivers have to able to understand all of the information being told to them by the engineers if they are going to win. It is more difficult for them if they do not have a decent knowledge of science.
