For my Technology GCSE i designed and built a working set of brake lights for a bicycle. I researched the required safety standards and made it so it was water proof, reliable and could be fitted to any bike… and it worked!
I won the school prize for my project and top grade in my GCSE so i was proud of that.
I had probably invented other stuff before, but that is the one true first success from concept to finished product.

      Hi Noninoo and Bunny,

I think I was 8 or 9, and I made a catapult with my dad!

When I was 8 – 10 I attached some heavy duty springs to a pair of sneakers to make ‘pogo shoes’. It looked ridiculous but it did work! (until it broke after 10 minutes of bouncing around and falling over)
