• Question: if you could go back in time when would you be and were

      March 17th 1991 HMS Brilliant in the Northern Arabian Gulf, just after the gulf war finished. My boss asked me if I had thought about becoming an engineering officer, I was only halfway through my apprenticeship at the time so I said “no… I’d like to finish my training and get my hands on the kit”. He saw the potential in me, but I didn’t see it in myself.
      I did eventually realise I was good enough and did become an officer in 2005. So I would go back to that moment in 1991 and have a little chat with myself and change my answer to “yes”.
      If you get an opportunity in your life, TAKE IT! Do not let fear or a lack of confidence in your own ability hold you back… we are all so much more capable than we think. 🙂

      Hi Chumf,

      I’m intrigued by life in the 18th Century from books I read, So I’ll go back there, probably America.
