Nope, although the technology teacher was pretty cool, it was my step dad that got me hooked on making and fixing stuff, he was a truck fitter and he showed me how to fix my bike. We had an old ambulance converted into a motorhome but the 2.0 litre engine was trashed so he fitted a ford 3.0 litre one in to replace it. I helped him build the new radiator housing on the front of the van as the new engine was so big the front needed extending by 35cm! I thought that was pretty cool, especially when he would wheel spin our suped-up motorhome!!

      Hi Charlie,

Not really, my favourite teacher was an Architect. That might explain why I have many architects as friends! What got me into engineering were my interests.

My Maths Teacher was great – she made maths look fun rather then some teachers who made it boring. I think once I found it more entertaining it became what I wanted to do for a job

      No not really.

Although, before GCSEs I was terrible at maths. I was in the lowest set in school and didn’t see a future in any sort of career that involved maths (including engineering). When I got to GCSE, I had a new maths teacher who was quite tough and strict, but the disciplined atmosphere pushed me to become better. I ended up moving to higher level maths and aced my exams – no I’m an engineer. Cheers Mr. A!
