      Hi DG,
I’ve travelled in many and personally driven quite a few. You need special licenses to drive larger vessels so those I’ve helmed myself have been small ones. Motor boats (various) from small skiffs to whalers and dories. Displacement boats with inboard engines including launches, picket boats, single hulled tenders and catamaran survey boats. Inflatable boats from small ones (MIB) to a jumbo Gemini which is large enough to carry a landrover or up to 30 people. As crew I have been on several warships and as a guest I have been to sea on aircraft carriers, amphibious support vessels, royal marine hovercraft, landing craft, auxiliary support vessels and numerous foreign warships of various shapes and sizes. I’ve also sailed on a few yachts and smaller sailing boats just for fun.
