      Hi Canj52,

      A phD student is someone who researches a particular area. It’s very different from other schooling you’ve done because there are no classes. You have a supervisor whom you can meet with regularly but most of the work you do is by yourself. It’s sort of like a job in a sense only you get to decide what you’re going to work on.
