Question: Would you consider working on one project for a length of time if you know it benefits you and the project?

  Yes. This is basically what doing a PhD entails – I signed up to work by myself on one project for four years. Fortunately, it is a very complicated project with many different parts to it so I never get bored – I can just move on and work on a different bit for a while.
