• Question: do you have to be good at maths to do an engeneering degree?

      It depends which bit of engineering you go into, but you have to be fairly good. Probably A or B at A-level (check with you careers adviser).

      I didn’t do an engineering degree, but I did physics which I think maths wise is pretty similar.
      The maths was pretty hard.

      It really helps – a lot of the principals you study in an engineering degree at uni are mathematical, so being good at maths will make things a LOT easier!

      Almost all your modules at uni will involve maths so yeah it is pretty important. You should do A Level maths for sure although this will probably be covered in your first year at university. Don’t be put off if you don’t get an A tho, as long as you pass you will be able to do a degree in engineering you just might need to work a bit harder!
