So scientists from all over the world come to use our neutrons to do their science. When we produce them we guide them down beam lines and aim the neutrons at samples of things that scientists are testing. Neutrons are special in that they allow you to see what’s happening in a substance on the atomic scale (i.e. very very small) helping us understand things like how proteins form, and how washing powders can clean at lower temperature. Hope this helps!
