The usual working time is 9am to 5pm. We do, however, in many occasions have to work late. As part of the ATLAS experiment I have also to do shifts in the control center of the detector. We have three 8 hour shifts a day, so you might end up doing a shift between 11pm and 7am!

My work day is 9am to 5:30pm, occasionally I might have to work a few extra hours to get something done and on very rare occasions (say once or twice a year) I might have to work on a Saturday. I couldn’t do night shifts as I like my sleep too much!

Usually 9-5. But if I’m working at the lab in Hamburg, I often work until 10 or 11pm. The accelerator we use runs 24 hours per day, so we have to use our time there as much as possible.

Normally 8.30 – 5pm (although I’m on flexi time which means I can come in late/lave early as long as I make the time up…). Never done a night shift.
