      Hi – STFC stands for the Science and Technology Facilities Council. It is a science research council (there are several others) which runs and manages several large science facilities around the country and some abroad. It gets money off the government to run its facilities, and then it decides where that money is spent and which facilities get it.

      I work on ISIS (one of the facilities funded by STFC) – a particle accelerator which produces neutrons!
