• Question: What skills and role do you have within your engineering career that makes you feel you are more able to win this?

      I don’t want to say that I’m more able to win this than Gary, we’re both in the final and we’d both do good things with the money, so we’re both worth a vote!

      I feel like I’m reasonably good at explaining my job to people in a way that is easy for them to understand, and (hopefully…) engaging…! That’s why I had a go at I’m an Engineer (I was recommended by a colleague…), and tbh I’ve enjoyed it a lot 🙂

      As for the 500 squid, if I won I would give it to our outreach team who do things like buy science equipment and take it round schools (we’ve got thermal imaging cameras, bits of meteorite etc.) to inspire kids into taking up careers in science and engineering. Given the nature of this event, I reckon they’d be good place for the dollar to go…

      Well, I’m enthusiastic about engineering and education. Hopefully I can combine both with “I’m an Engineer…”. A colleague recommended me to STFC, and I’ve not looked back since!
