The biggest project I’ve completed (I’m doing some bigger ones now but they’re on-going) was to design a new type of beam profile monitor which tells our scientists what share the particle beam is.
It went pretty well tbh. Some bits broke during testing, but this isn’t abnormal and I redesigned them so that the monitor passed the tests second time around. The monitor is now installed and is running like a dream – the scientist who I did the design for plans to order several more!
I try not to make major mistakes, but small mistakes get made occasionally. Usually because I’ve made an assumption that turned out to be wrong. If you’re unsure – ask!
