You will find many universities offer Engineering degrees and it is difficult to say which is best.
      How do you define best?
      – Best exam results
      – Best for getting jobs afterwards
      – Best life experiences for the students?
      – Most fun?

There are lots of tables published giving different opinions – Here’s an example.

I’m based in the US, so I can’t offer specifics. I’m grateful my university had good relationships with employers, gave out lots of scholarships, and invested in their engineering degrees. This meant our lecture halls were nice and new, there were lots of research opportunities, and they recruited a lot of students to study engineering – some of whom went on to become my friends!

Every university offers different benefits, and it depends on what is more important to you when deciding what university, you want to go to.
You can look at university league tables for engineering online. Most engineering degrees offer the same core course content, but some universities have specialities that make them unique.
Just because a university’s engineering course has higher entry requirements doesn’t mean that it is a better university to go to.
What is more important is that you look for a university that is a better fit for you. When looking at what university to go to I recommend going to lots of open days to see if you’d be happy going there. There’s more to the university experience than just the course.
I chose to go to Cardiff University and one of the main reasons I chose to go there (apart from the engineering course and the engineering facilities) was because I love the city and could see myself living there.

I think it depends on what kind of engineering you want to do and also personal preference. Some universities have good ties with employers, some have great reputations for research, some known for high rankings in specific courses – all of which can be really beneficial. But you also want to feel like the university is a good fit for you personally (thinking maybe about location, what’s the social life like, what societies and clubs can you join, etc). I’d definitely recommend going to university open days if you can as they really give you a feel of what it might be like to study there and it gives you the opportunity to speak to lecturers and current students which can help answer any questions you may have.
