• Question: did you like science as a kid

      Yes, I did. My father was an engineer and was interested in science. I liked space science, but also liked looking at the insects and birds in our garden and in a nearby woodland reserve. I knew I would end up doing something in science, probably space. At uni I was lucky to find people doing Mars research, and here I am.

      I didn’t mind science but it wasn’t my favourite subject. And I wasn’t bad at maths but I didn’t enjoy it much at all. My favourite subjects were the creative ones- like Art and Design technology. That’s why I wanted a creative job like engineering for my career.

      Yes for sure I did, also science fiction (I’m a Doctor Who fan…).
